Description

Traditionally soothing for bruises, sprains and minor cuts and abrasions, Comfrey and Chickweed are ready to give you a helping hand. This is a suitable salve for all skin types and is most often used to come to the rescue to reduce the subsequent bruising and swelling associated with slips, trips and falls!

Comfrey has been used for centuries as the go-to herb for broken bones, sprains, bruises and sores. It is a moist, sweet-tasting plant with constituents that are known to promote the healing of damaged tissue and bones by promoting tissue growth. Comfrey is not recommended for deep puncture wounds or cuts as it is such a powerful wound healer that it can seal off the wound, trapping dirt and bacteria in the cut before it has been cleaned or removed by the body’s natural defences.

Chickweed was my first garden ally! Seasonally grown in the cooler months on the farm, this herb is ruled by the Moon and cooling and moistening in nature. Chickweed is nutrient rich and often used in compresses, poultices and salves to reduce inflammation and encourage the body’s wound-healing processes.

All of our products are made in small batches from herbs, berries and flowers grown on the farm using organic and biodynamic principles. Flowers or leaf material is infused in locally made organic oils for a full lunar cycle before they are sieved and stored, ready to be made into salves and creams. Hand-harvested beeswax is used to stabilise the creams and salves and the natural preservatives of Rosemary and Grapefruit seed extract ensure no chemicals are needed.

Ingredients:
Comfrey (Symphytum officinale), Chickweed (Stellaria media), Certified Organic Olive Oil, Hand-harvested Beeswax, Rosemary Extract, Grapefruit Seed Extract
